Pay It Forward

A key function of Your Wellbeing Directory as a social enterprise is to pay forward into charities who provide free or low-cost therapy to those who need it most.
So many charities have waiting lists of clients ready to engage with their support and yet struggle to maintain sustainable services due to fluctuations in funding streams. It’s really important to do what we can at YWD to support this essential work.

10% of all membership subscriptions will be donated to one of our member charities, with a new charity being nominated every 6 months by our paying members.

The first charity to be supported is to be chosen by the website’s founder with subsequent charities being voted for from member charities by paying individual members of the website.

Our First Charity Partner

For our first 6 months in business, our charity partner has been chosen by founder, Jill Harper-Hill, and is a cause close to the hearts of her family, local charity Melanoma-Me.

Jill says, “It’s such a privilege to support Melanoma-Me as it’s a charity that we wish we’d heard of only months ago when my husband was diagnosed with the disease. It was a real coincidence and serendipitous timing that I met Claire Ball, who works as a counsellor for the charity, as I was preparing to launching Your Wellbeing Directory. We learnt about all of the ways that Melanoma-Me support families experiencing similar situations to us and would like to take this opportunity not only to support them financially but also to raise awareness of their invaluable work, especially when numbers of people being diagnosed are rising.”

“All of the team at Melanoma-Me are extremely grateful to Your Wellbeing Directory for choosing us as your nominated charity. Melanoma is the 5th most common cancer in the UK and arguably the most misunderstood. We have specially trained counsellors and we offer free counselling sessions to anyone diagnosed with Melanoma and their families and it is funded by any donations we receive, so your support will go directly to helping our clients. Thank you for helping us with this important cause.” – Claire Ball
